During the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, filmmaker Gavin Hood decided it was a good time to invest in property. At that time he paid $4 million dollars for a mansion in Point Dume, Malibu.

Now, this same residence is again for sale for $7 million dollars, this sale is being handled by Engel & Völkers Calabasas.

Hood is known for having directed ‘Tsotsi’ – winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Film -, ‘Rendition’, ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ and ‘Ender’s Game’.

The property now for sale was completed in 2003 and sits on a one-acre lot. The main structure stands out for its wooden walls.

The main house is 3,800 square feet on two floors with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, foyer, living room, great room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and other amenities.

The interior highlights high ceilings, hardwood floors, large windows, rustic stone fireplaces and more. The kitchen is gourmet style with a bar, granite countertops, center island and high-end appliances.

The master bedroom is quite spacious with a private balcony with stunning views of the ocean and Santa Monica Mountains.

Additional to the main house is a garage, two-story guest house and more.

The most attractive part of the place is its exterior with green areas, a koi pond, turtle pond, swimming pool, barbecue area, bar and other spaces ideal for enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
