Donald Trump’s campaign team announced that during the third quarter of 2023 it raised up to $45 million, surpassing the figures of his Republican rivals who aspire to the presidency ahead of the 2024 elections.

Trump’s team assured that by reaching this figure they broke the myth that campaigns usually have less financial support during the summer months.

“President Trump and his campaign have completely destroyed that notion,” the campaign team said in a statement.

The Republican candidate closest to Trump in terms of fundraising is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who raised just $15 million in the third quarter.

Despite being the second-highest Republican raiser, DeSantis can only use $5 million for the primary due to contribution limits. In addition, the candidate has lost ground in the polls against Trump and other candidates such as former ambassador Nikki Haley.

In national polls, Trump leads with an overwhelming advantage over his rivals, which has served as a pretext for the former president not to attend the second Republican debate held in California.

Despite the optimism regarding popularity in Trump’s campaign, the Republican faces several charges.

In Georgia, he is accused of trying to alter that state’s results in the 2020 election; In New York he was charged with allegedly bribing porn actress Stormy Daniels to silence an extramarital relationship and faces a civil trial for real estate fraud, while in Florida he is investigated for improper manipulation of classified documents in his Mar-a-Lago home .

However, the legal problems he faces did not seem to affect his donor base, who responded enthusiastically to his emails and posts asking for financial support.
