Throughout the history of the NBA there have been several players who left their mark on the league. For some, the debate about the best basketball player is broad, although for others it is quite clear and there is only one possible name.
One of those who seems to be clear about the name of the best player in NBA history is Luka Doncic. The Slovenian from the Dallas Mavericks was asked about who he considers should occupy this place and his answer was short and precise: Michael Jordan.
The Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves are currently in Abu Dhabi playing some preparation games for the upcoming NBA season. During a press conference, Doncic was asked who he considered the best player in history. The Slovenian didn’t even have to weigh it, he even only responded with two letters “MJ”. More than enough to make his position clear.
This response from Doncic may be a bit surprising, since in the past he has declared his admiration and fanaticism for LeBron James. He even revealed an anecdote from his rookie year in the NBA in which he did everything possible to get the “King” jersey.
In the section where Luka did hesitate was when asking him about his favorite quintet in history. To this question, the young 24-year-old guard responded “I don’t know, I would have to think about it, I don’t know.” So he didn’t want to risk releasing his favorites at the time.
Jordan played 13 NBA seasons in his career and reached six finals. Of which he won 100% of them, to retire with six championship rings in his hands and mark a before and after in basketball. That is why he is considered by many to be the best basketball player in history.
The Mavs will begin their NBA season on October 25 against the San Antonio Spurs. The quintet led by Doncic will seek to return to the playoffs this year, since last season they finished in box 11 in the Western Conference with no chance of entering the postseason.
