MIAMI – The United States Government condemned the terrorist attacks that occurred this Saturday against Israel and “firmly” supported the Government and people of that Middle Eastern country where at least 40 people have died and more than 700 were injured by the surprise attack from Gaza of the Islamist group Hamas.

In a statement, through its spokesperson, Adrienne Watson, the National Security Council (NSC) of the White House condemned these “unprovoked” attacks against Israeli civilians.

“The United States unequivocally condemns the unprovoked attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israeli civilians. There is never any justification for terrorism. “We firmly support the Government and people of Israel and express our deepest condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks,” the statement said.

The NSC also indicated that National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan “has spoken with Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi, and we remain in close contact with our Israeli partners.”

President Joe Biden was “fully briefed” on the events unfolding in Israel on Saturday morning, a White House official told NBC News.

This morning, the Israeli Army declared a state of war after a strong combined attack from Gaza, with the launching of rockets and the infiltration of Palestinian militiamen into Israeli territory, in an aggression for which it considers the Islamist group Hamas responsible.

As confirmed to EFE by an Israeli medical source, the deaths in Israel have passed the quarantine and the injured number more than 740 since the Hamas offensive began early in the morning, which has led to an escalation of war in the region without precedents that have put the Israeli authorities on the ropes.

In turn, there were at least a dozen dead Palestinians from Gaza, including a journalist and at least ten Palestinian militiamen, whose bodies were returned to the Strip after their incursion into Israeli territory, according to Gaza sources.

According to the latest information, there are at least 60 militants who remain inside Israeli territory and are fighting against Israeli soldiers and police in multiple Israeli locations and communities around the coastal enclave.

Militants from Hamas and Islamic Jihad kidnapped around fifty people in Israel, including soldiers and military officials, civilians and also migrants of Asian origin, according to Palestinian sources and videos on social networks.
