Many stars try to build their perfect retirement place. Almost everyone thinks about that, about getting away from their work areas and going to take refuge, alone or in companies, in properties that meet their demands. This has been the case of former basketball player Carmelo Anthony.
In May of this year Anthony announced his official retirement from the NBA, keeping the 10 NBA All-Star Game games he won and his three Olympic medals.
During the seven years he played for the New York Knicks he lived in a luxurious apartment in Chelsea, but he did not want to stay there forever. Additionally, after his divorce from La La Anthony, the athlete sold a mansion he had in Beverly Grove, California, for $3 million dollars.
With retirement in his sights, Anthony looked for a nice house in the suburbs of New York in the summer of last year that would serve him to relax and unwind. Now, he has shown details of that place to the specialized magazine ‘Architectural Digest’.
During the tour and the conversation he had with the magazine’s team, Anthony confessed to being a man of the house and also assured that there is a point, after several trips, that the suburbs stop seeming very far from the city.
The new rest home is located in Westchester County, a community with more than 1 million inhabitants according to the 2020 census.
The 13,000-square-foot home was remodeled to the former NBA star’s tastes. For that she sought the help of her trusted designer Cassandre Bonhomme.
This residence was built in 2006 in a fairly classic style, something that Anthony did not want. The main objective of the remodeling was to have enough space to display the multiple collections it has: art, furniture, figures and more.
Now, each space in the house has elements from the collections as decoration and they even suggest that over time everything will change. That is, there is no definitive result yet.
