Forbes created its annual ranking of America’s Best Employers for Women, with the University of Oklahoma ranked highest in 2023.
The goal of the list is to help women identify companies that meet their needs, and for companies to evaluate their own treatment of them in their workforce.
The list was created in partnership with research firm Statista, and the list is derived from surveys of more than 60,000 workers at companies with at least 1,000 employees.
Around 40,000 women were asked to rate their business in areas such as:
· The work environment
· Salary
· Employee diversity
They were then asked if they would recommend their company to a friend or family member. Their responses were also compared to those of 20,000 men to assess any significant differences in perceptions of the workplace.
Women were also asked to rate their employer based on factors such as pay equity, parental leave policies, leadership training programs for women, representation of women in senior management, and employer response. to incidents of discrimination.
They also carried out research on the presence of women in management positions in each company.
These categories were evaluated and combined to create a final score. The 400 companies with the highest scores are listed.
“I see women willing to make a change, even at the top of their career, often to achieve a better work-life balance,” said Sarah Raudenbush, business transformation consultant and M&A advisor.
