New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been questioned for his “toughness,” but one of the best players in NFL history, Tom Brady, stated that he would not have become the biggest winner in history. of the Super Bowl without the help of Belichick.

For Brady to play 20 years under the coach’s direction, he explained: “I am proud of Coach Belichick. Without him I wouldn’t have been what I am. He was a tough coach who taught us what to do. He told us: Don’t expect a slap for doing your job. He didn’t want me to be average, but someone above average.”

Brady said that the main obstacle to success that he believes the new generations face has to do with the way they deal with demands and pressure.

And he clarified: “Today they don’t want the coach to demand of them, they want him to tell them: You’re good. That does not work. They have to pressure you to be the best and you, in turn, must pressure those next to you to do the same. “You don’t know if you’re going to win or lose, but at least you’re sure you’re going to give your best.”

“A team that does not practice with maximum pressure begins to fall apart. We did it in the Patriots. I have seen teams that when they lose their players hide and when they win everyone wants to talk. No, you must take charge of this in victory and defeat. What is wrong is to give up.”

The 15-time Pro Bowl selection shared the intensity with which he worked for 23 years in the NFL.

“I didn’t want to shine for a while, but to last. Everyone wanted to beat me and I wanted to beat them all. The Patriots drafted me 199th overall in the 2000 draft, a far cry, that turned me on. “I wanted to show my team that they could trust me.”

Brady, who retired from the NFL last February, said he doesn’t enjoy being referred to as the GOAT ‘Greatest Of All Times’.

“The answer is no, because I have never felt better than anyone. I would never say I was better than many players before me. “I admire many, I noticed and studied Eli Manning, Brett Favre, I learned a lot from them and I continue to learn from others like Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes,” he concluded.
