Real Madrid’s victory two goals to one against FC Barcelona had an exclusive protagonist and it was the Englishman Jude Bellingham, who with a double gave his team the victory.
At the end of the match, Bellingham said that, despite his goals, he was not at his best level in a match that he was looking forward to “enjoying,” as he confessed to his family.
and revealed: “I just spoke with my family and it was difficult to hear them well with the noise in the locker room. I was very excited before the game, I had watched many classics from the sofa with my little brother and my parents. I told them that today it was my turn to experience it and enjoy it as I have done.”
Furthermore, he was self-critical: “It has not been a good day, neither I nor the team were at the same level. Little by little we began to have a better feeling, to press, we had more ball and we achieved the reward to take the three points.”
“I wasn’t at my best level. Sometimes it’s not about trying to do something special every time you have the ball. I did well by combining with the players up front and when I received that ball I knew I was going to score. I received the ball on the edge of the area, I had been saying for weeks that I need to try from outside because the rivals think that I am going to combine with a teammate or enter the area. I know that I have the necessary technique to shoot from outside and I am very happy,” he commented.
Bellingham highlighted the sensations that the Real Madrid players feel with each game they turn around after being behind on the scoreboard: “Another comeback, I love them. The heart has a hard time, but it is very fun. “We don’t give up, we all trust and we are very happy.”
“Right now everything is going well for me, I prepare the games well, I am training well, learning a lot from my teammates and coaches. I want to continue improving and helping my team win,” he said.
Bellingham beat Gündongan in the debutants’ duel
Ilkay Gündogan and Jude Bellingham turned out to be the protagonists in their first duel between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The match was low intensity, with the pace that was comfortable for the Catalans against an opponent incapable of disturbing them. But the Englishman’s goal accelerated everything in the final stretch.
Gündogan had a good performance, but until now, he had not been able to score goals with the culé shirt. But, as always, his contribution was significant in shaping the game from midfield, with excellent precision in passing.
It was a Classic that seemed to be disappointing for Bellingham: gone, inconsequential. Until he redeemed himself with the goal and gave Madrid a second wind to go in search of victory, which he himself sealed with the double in stoppage time.
