Luka Doncic started the NBA season with everything. The Slovenian has had masterful performances in two victories for the Dallas Mavericks, the second of these this Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets where he added 49 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, also scoring a tiebreaking triple at the end of the game.
Doncic made four of nine three-pointers in the last three minutes of the game and scored 14 of the last 17 points scored by the Mavericks.
Cam Thomas led the Nets offense with 30 points and making 12 of 19 shots attempted. Spencer Dinwiddie followed by scoring 23 points and made six of Brooklyn’s 21 three-pointers.
For the Mavs, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 19 points and Kyrie Irving contributed 17, also adding seven rebounds and six assists in his first game against the Nets since being traded to the Texas team.
Although Brooklyn entered the final quarter of the game ahead on the scoreboard, a basket by Dinwiddie put Brooklyn up 99-106 with eight minutes remaining. Then Doncic’s “madness” began and he took the score to 108-106.
With the score 120-120, Doncic sent a golden triple with 23 seconds left in the game. Cam Thomas failed in the possession of the New York team and sentenced the defeat of the Nets.
