The search for three fishermen who disappeared almost two weeks ago in Georgia has been suspended by the Coast Guard. The men who were reported missing are: Dalton Conway, Caleb Wilkinson and Tyler Barlow.
The men were supposed to return on Wednesday, October 18, but that did not happen, they informed the authorities. The last time they were heard from was in the town of Brunswick, where they left to fish about 80 miles from the coast, Telemundo Atlanta reported.
The search lasted seven days and the work spanned an area of at least $94,000 square miles.
Capt. Frank DelRosso, Coast Guard commander in Charleston, shared some details of the search.
“Despite the unwavering dedication of our crews, we have unfortunately been unable to discover any trace of the ship and have made the difficult decision to suspend the search for three beloved family members,” he said.
Barlow’s family opened a GoFundMe account to raise funds to locate the missing people. In total they hoped to raise $50,000.
In the publication, they indicated: “The family has asked for continued prayers for the children to be safe and healthy and for answers. This GoFundMe was created to raise any additional resources the Barlow family may need to continue their search. The family does not give up hope or efforts.”
The fishing boat is known to be 31 feet long and named Carol Anne.
On the other hand, Kimberly Jones, Tyler Barlow’s mother, posted a message on Facebook to say that they will not stop the search: “With the greatest respect, we do not feel that a search and rescue mission is over until these three young men are found.” or any type of evidence is found.”
Barlow’s father also commented to First Coat Now: “Tyler won’t stop fighting, I don’t think Caleb or Dalton will either.”
In addition to this, he commented: “His chances of survival are extremely great. We just have to find them.”
