The 23-year-old forward was allegedly attacked by fans of the culé club when he was substituted at the end of the match that ended in a 2-1 victory for his team at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Barcelona, Spain.
The League confirmed in a statement that it is in talks with the National Police and Barcelona to identify the alleged aggressors to file the corresponding complaint.
On the other hand, Barcelona also spoke out about the accusations of racism through a statement, ensuring that it “will always defend the values of football and sport such as respect for rivals,” announcing that investigations will begin into “any racist insult that is used.” was able to produce during the match against Real Madrid.”
This incident adds to several of this nature that the Brazilian forward has suffered, the most recent being a week ago when Sevilla expelled a fan from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium due to “xenophobic and racist behavior” against Vinícius Jr.
The Carioca has repeatedly been the target of racist insults in recent years and in early October testified at the trial of three Valencia fans who were accused of racially abusing him during a match in May at the Mestalla Stadium.
