At least eight people were injured during a traffic accident involving several vehicles in Queens last Saturday.
Shortly before 3:00 in the afternoon, a 33-year-old Hispanic man who was behind the wheel of a Hyundai Genesis allegedly collided with several cars and a 14-year-old pedestrian.
Identified as Michael Moreno, he was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a disability and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test.
Police received numerous 911 calls reporting a collision at 47th Street and Queens Boulevard, ABC 7 NY reported.
When the authorities arrived at the scene, they found a 14-year-old girl with a head injury.
Eight people, including the minor, were transported to different local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Moreno was arrested in 2015 in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in the Bronx. Gabriela Aguilar Valinos, 27, lost her life while she was riding her bicycle from work to her house.
The woman had just left her job at Sammy’s Shrimp Box and was riding her bicycle when the Hispanic man ran over her. Aguilar Valinos suffered severe head trauma and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Moreno served six years in prison for the accident that left the Latina dead.
