Boxer Tyson Fury’s co-promoter, Frank Warren, decided to end the controversy that arose after his fighter’s victory this weekend against boxer Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia; Rumors from the media stated that Fury would have a fight against Oleksandr Usyk on December 23 with the intention of closing the year 2023 with one last victory.

“No, we will not fight on that date (December 23). He (Fury) will not be ready for that date. It was a tough, tough fight. He will need time to heal his body, as long as he requires, and then return to camp. He would only have about five or six weeks, so it’s not going to happen,” Warren expressed in his statements offered to Boxing King Media.

In his statements, the boxing promoter detailed that they have the objective of talking with Usyk’s team to plan a new date that will allow them to carry out this fight that promises to be one of the most anticipated for 2024.

“Tyson did what he always does and was able to come away with the victory, now we have to look to the future. We know the fight is done with Usyk, and we hope to set a new date soon, as soon as Tyson feels ready. It was a tougher fight than the one he had with (Derek) Chisora and it was a tougher fight than the one he had with Dillian Whyte. “That is a fact,” he expressed.

Warren reiterated these statements in another interview for IFL TV, where he detailed that Tyson Fury will not be ready for a fight against Usyk on December 23 and for this reason they will be planning to establish a new date that will allow them to maintain an active calendar.

“He had a tough fight (with Ngannou). It’s eight weeks (from now until December 23). He needs to rest his body. Remember he’s been in camp for 12 weeks. He’s been training and stopping for the last 11 months, and the fights didn’t happen because they already know what happened with Usyk. He needs to rest his body. He’s coming off a 12-week camp, so he won’t be ready. He can’t do just a six-week camp to fight Usyk. “That is ridiculous,” he concluded.
