Now, the league has announced that it will tell your story through a documentary series that will come out weekly with testimonies from the protagonist and those close to him.
“Sammis is a talented professional with experience of being not only a Latino player in the NFL, but the first Chilean player in the league. We hope that Sammis will share his stories and expand the reach of our game to Latinos around the world,” said Javier Farfán, director of cultural strategy for the league.
The program in which the former tight end will appear, in the coming days, will be called ‘NFL Cultura with Sammis Reyes’, a weekly series for Mundo NFL in which he will offer ideas and comments about his experiences.

Sammis Reyes, 28, was preparing to play his first season with the Jaguars in 2023, but last July he suffered a blow to the head in training that placed him in concussion protocol a couple of weeks before the first game. of the preseason against the Dallas Cowboys.
Seeing that the consequences of the blow did not allow him to return to training, the man born in Talcahuano preferred to retire to avoid a serious situation.
“A couple of weeks ago I suffered a concussion that has lingered for a little longer than I expected. It was after seven days without sleep and painful symptoms that I realized that this was not doing me or my family good, so I have decided to retire from the NFL,” explained Reyes on August 14.
The former tight end came to the NFL via the ‘International Pathway’ program (IPP), which selects players from around the world.
Reyes impressed the Washington coaches, the team he was with in 2021. He appeared in 11 games, one of them as a starter.
In 2022 he emigrated to the Bears, with whom he remained on the practice squad. For 2023 he moved to the Jaguars, a team that had him considered for this campaign.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join this project and eager to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at what it is like to be an NFL player,” he concluded.
