FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) agents raided the home of Brianna Suggs, New York Mayor Eric Adams’ campaign consultant and fundraiser, this morning.
Local media reported at noon this Thursday that the intervention took place during the morning hours in Lincoln Place, in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. The advisor, who was not arrested, was at the residence.
The federal agency has not made any statements about the intervention.
It is the policy of the members of that office not to confirm or deny the existence of any investigation.
The New York Times reported that Suggs was interviewed by federal officials.
Suggs raised money for Adams during the 2021 campaign, according to the New York Daily News report.
Adams’ office indicated that Suggs is not a City employee and has nothing to do with municipal operations. According to the ABC 7 report, the mayor’s campaign spokesperson will be the person in charge of answering questions from members of the press.
That unexpected move may have been the reason the mayor abruptly returned to town this morning.
Adams returned to NYC on his way to Washington DC to meet with White House officials to discuss the immigration crisis.
A spokesman for the official simply indicated that he would return to the city to deal with an issue, ABC 7 published.
In a publication on his account on the social network
“On my way to DC to join my fellow mayors to speak with our federal partners about the asylum seeker crisis. to talk with our federal partners about the asylum seeker crisis…” reads the comment at the top of the video.
