The United States government warned this Friday that a war between Hezbollah terrorists and Israel could be bloodier than the 2006 conflict.

“The United States does not seek to escalate the conflict. We have been very clear. “This has the potential to become a bloodier war than the one between Israel and Lebanon in 2006,” White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in statements to the press.

Karine Jean-Pierre reiterated that the United States does not want the conflict to expand to Lebanon because it would suffer devastation and its people would suffer in unimaginable ways. And she stated that this scenario can be avoided.

The spokeswoman made it clear that the White House does not support the ceasefire because that would only benefit Hamas terrorists. Although she emphasized that she is in favor of a pause to allow the entry of humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians and the release of hostages.

Lebanon does not rule out an “extensive war”

The alert was made by the official aboard Joe Biden’s presidential plane on his trip to Maine, shortly after Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah said that he does not rule out an extensive war.

“We must all be prepared for all possibilities. The Lebanese front and its escalation depend on two things: the first is the development of events in Gaza and the second is how the Zionist enemy behaves towards Lebanon,” he said in his first speech since October 7, when it broke out. a new conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Hezbollah and Israel on Thursday stepped up cross-attacks across the border with Lebanon. This situation made the Lebanese begin to fear that the Shiite formation would wage an open war against the Israeli State as happened 17 years ago.

Hezbollah helps “relieve pressure” on Gaza

The Hezbollah leader reported that his group has lost 57 members in the outbreak of violence, but stressed that its “fight” has helped relieve pressure on Gaza and for Israel to divert resources to its border with Lebanon that, somehow, way, they could be used against the fringe.

“The Resistance operations in the south tell this enemy that may think about attacking Lebanon that if it does so it will commit the greatest stupidity in its history,” Nasrallah said.

“We must know that the United States is primarily responsible for the war in Gaza and that Israel is simply an instrument. Gaza will be victorious, the Resistance will be victorious,” she added.
