The Israeli government accused Turkey of siding with the terrorist organization Hamas in the clashes between the two countries.
The accusations come after Recep Tayyip Erdogan decided to abandon his Israeli ambassador in the midst of the tense situation that is being recorded.
The entity indicated: “The decision of the Turkish government to withdraw its ambassador while the State of Israel is in the middle of a war of self-defense imposed by a terrorist organization worse than the Islamic State, is another step by the Turkish president who takes the stand. side of the terrorist organization Hamas.”
In the statement they made several complaints about what is happening in Palestine: “Hamas uses the population of Gaza as human shields and prevents them from moving to safe areas, while stealing fuel, food and drinking water. “Hamas commits war crimes and crimes against humanity and is the true enemy of the Palestinian people.”
What happened to the Turkish ambassador to Israel?
The Turkish Şakir Özkan Torunlar, who was in charge of his country’s diplomatic headquarters in Israel, was called this Saturday for consultations in Ankara.
“Given the unfolding humanitarian tragedy in Gaza due to Israel’s continued attacks on civilians, and Israel’s refusal to calls for a ceasefire and the continued unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, it has been decided to recall our ambassador in Tel Aviv, Şakir Özkan Torunlar, to Ankara for consultations,” Foreign Affairs announced in a statement.
This measure has been rejected by the Israeli government, which considers the event as a show of support for the Palestinian people.
The conflict between both countries began on October 7, after a massive attack by the Hamas group on Israeli soil. That event alone left 1,400 dead, 5,400 injured and 241 hostages.
This trigger caused Israel’s air, naval and land forces to relentlessly attack the Palestinian enclave, where there are already some 9,500 dead and more than 24,100 injured, most of them children and women.
Another consequence has been the displacement of one and a half million Gazans, who have faced harsh conditions due to overcrowding, the collapse of hospitals and shortages of drinking water, food, medicine, electricity and fuel.
