A former neighbor of the Bronx apartment building where Jayson Dargan used a bowling ball to fatally hit his brother Timothy Dargan testified that on different occasions she heard shouting arguments from her apartment in the early morning hours.

“Sometimes, since we are so close [del apartamento], we listened to discussions. I think it was the two brothers, but I’m not really sure. We heard arguments around 2 a.m. We didn’t hear what they were saying, but we heard an altercation,” explained resident Joyce Danakabu.

The woman said the discussions ended about two weeks ago, an observation that connects to the Bronx Criminal Court complaint that claims the murder took place sometime on October 22.

“Until recently I didn’t hear any arguments,” he said. “Then I said to my husband, ‘I hope the brothers didn’t do anything, because I didn’t hear them arguing.’”

Danakabu stated that several days ago there was a bad smell in the hallways of the apartment complex located at 775 Concourse Village East, Daily News reported.

“We noticed a smell since last Monday. … As the day progressed it became stronger. On Wednesday, when I went to work, the smell was unbearable, as if it were in my throat,” said the neighbor.

Building security went to check the apartment and were then joined by the NYPD, who found the body.

On Friday, authorities stated that they had charged Jayson Dargan, 41, with the murder of Timothy Dargan, 44.

“When they took the body out, it was like the smell was inside my house,” Danakabu recalled.

A neighbor who did not want to be identified said he felt sorry for the brothers and their family. “It’s unfortunate. I feel bad for the dad, the children. “They were good people.”

“There is [un] mental problem that is happening and spreading rampantly,” he said.

Jayson Dargan was arraigned Saturday in Bronx Criminal Court on charges of murder, manslaughter and weapons possession, according to court records.

The man pleaded not guilty and his arrest and bail were ordered.
