The world of football was stained by high levels of fanaticism after the suicide of a 23-year-old man was confirmed in the Argentine town of Bonaerense following the defeat suffered by his country’s Boca Juniors against Brazilian team Fluminense in the final of the Conmebol Copa Libertadores played this weekend at the legendary Maracaná stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
The information about this fact was collected through a report made by Crónica TV in which it was detailed that his lifeless body was found in the room of his home located on Arturo de Bassi street in the Don Orione neighborhood, in the south of the Buenos Aires suburbs.
His mother, who offered the statements and was the person who found the body, explained that the subject worked as a police officer in the city of Buenos Aires; She explained that after losing the match against Fluminense he could not stand the sadness and shot himself in the right corner with his service weapon.
The deceased was identified as Marcelo Morales, who transferred everything to his younger brother, before taking his own life.
“He was a fan of Boca. If she lost he was bad, depressed, he became sad, he beat himself up. He said that he couldn’t lose, that Boca was the greatest thing. Boca is garbage, because they killed my son. That’s why my son killed himself for Boca. Now I don’t have it and there is no player, there is no one to give me condolences,” said the victim’s mother.
The man’s mother recalled in her statements that weeks before she had told her father of the decision to take her own life in the event that Boca Juniors failed to win the final of the Copa Libertadores.
Three weeks ago he told his father not to tell me anything, but he told him ‘if Boca doesn’t win on November 4, I’ll kill myself.’ The dad thought he was making a joke, he didn’t take it seriously. When I left the house, after a while her sister called me telling me that she had shot herself. All the games I watched with him were crazy, he was a very fanatic. We both fucked together.
