The American striker Christian Pulisic was substituted at the end of the match between AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), a match that the Italians won 2-1 at San Siro.
The 25-year-old tweaked his hamstring after falling to the ground. Alessandro Florenzi replaced him in added time and Pulisic walked off the field.
Milan coach Stefano Pioli confirmed post-match that the injury occurred in the same area of the thigh where he suffered an injury at the end of October and which caused him to miss three games.
“It looks like a cramp, but in the same place as last time. We really hope it’s just that,” Pioli said.
The United States soccer team will have an important duel for the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Nations League next Thursday the 16th against the Trinidad and Tobago team.
Pulisic has scored four goals in 13 appearances in all competitions for Milan since leaving Chelsea in the summer.
Pulisic joins USMNT teammate Timothy Weah on the injured list. Weah is a doubt for the upcoming Nations League quarter-final matches after Juventus confirmed last month that the 23-year-old striker was injured during his team’s victory over Verona.
