Ivanka Trump, daughter of former President Donald Trump, took the stand and was sworn in this Wednesday morning in the middle of the trial against her father and her brothers Don Jr. and Eric Trump, for civil fraud, which was imposed by the New York prosecutor. York, Letitia James.

During the hearing, Ivanka admitted that she shared her father’s financial statements with some banks that were interested in financing the Doral project, a golf complex and hotel in Miami that they bought in 2012.

One of those banks was Beal Bank, to which Ivanka Trump emailed in August 2011 telling her that her father’s financial statements were being mailed for review, the court showed.

Louis Solomon, a lawyer for the New York attorney general who filed the lawsuit last year, asked her if the bank had requested Trump’s finances or if she had offered them to him. Ivanka Trump said she didn’t remember him.

Likewise, he said he did not remember if the bank had responded to the email or if they had reached an agreement. He claimed that they never reached the term sheet phase of negotiations with that bank.

Trump’s attorney, Chris Kise, objected to the admission of documents related to possible funds that never materialized in connection with the Doral property, calling them irrelevant. Judge Arthur Engoron disagreed and dismissed the objection.

The Doral property is one of several Trump Organization properties that were secured with loans from Deutsche Bank. The attorney general alleges that the loans to Doral were granted in part because of Trump’s personal financial statements that inflated his assets.

The attorney general’s team has argued that these discussions show that the Trump Organization obtained the most favorable loan terms through Deutsche Bank because Trump personally guaranteed the loans through the private wealth management group.

Ivanka Trump also recalled that she was nine months pregnant with her first child when she learned that the Doral property was for sale in bankruptcy proceedings, adding that it was a unique opportunity and that she became personally involved in the project, overseeing the renovation and design of the complex.

The trial, which is expected to last until December 22, is one of six facing Trump, who is seeking to return to the White House in the 2024 elections. The former president has denied the accusations, and says that all cases They are part of a “witch hunt” led by Democrats.
