The Argentine Sergio “Kun” Agüero seems to have found a new passion and “made his debut” as a Formula 1 driver in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the last race of the 2023 season of the premier category of motorsport.

The former footballer from clubs such as Manchester City and FC Barcelona made an appearance at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, wearing a Formula 1 driver’s uniform, but with the colors and shield of the Manchester club.

In a post on their social networks, Formula 1 and the Premier League echoed the arrival of the Argentine striker with several photographs they published with the message: “Changing football for Formula 1? “That overalls is quite elegant, ‘Kun’ Agüero.”

The Argentine was present in the last classification of the 2023 season and was also able to enjoy the rest of the weekend, including the race won by the Dutchman Max Verstappen from Red Bull.

Agüero’s “outfit” was in honor of Manchester City, a club where he scored 260 goals and became the institution’s all-time top scorer.

The forward presented an award to Max Verstappen, who reached Lewis Hamilton’s record by winning 12 classifications in the same year.

“Thank you Pirelli for the honor of presenting the award to Max Verstappen, best classified in Formula 1 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix,” Agüero published on his Instagram account.

“Kun”, who retired from football in December 2021 due to a cardiac arrhythmia diagnosed during his time at Barcelona, was designated to present the recognition to Max Verstappen for having won pole position in the Abu Dhabi GP.
