Controversy is the order of the day when talking about the elections for the new board of directors of Boca Juniors, and after having been suspended due to some irregularities found by the Argentine Justice, they have accused Juan Román Riquelme of falsifying the elections .
Andrés Ibarra and Mauricio Macri, candidates for the presidency and vice-presidency of the club, respectively, have accused Riquelme, the other candidate for the top position, of wanting to falsify the process that was scheduled for next Sunday, December 3.
In that sense, Ibarra stated that his team wants to “compete in clear elections”, however he assured that “this ruling party – in reference to Riquelme, who aspires to preside over the entity – wants to rig (false) the election.”
Likewise, the economist also made known his desire to “vote on December 3”, so he hopes that the situation will be clarified as soon as possible.
“The club has been in existence for 118 years and, thanks to the elections, the members have the opportunity to elect their authorities, change them and, among other things, in 2019 to have elected the current authorities,” said the opposition candidate for president. xeneize’ in reference to the formula then led by Jorge Ameal.
To give greater meaning to his accusations against the Boca Juniors idol, Ibarra recalled that a few months ago Riquelme said “that it was not necessary for the club to have elections, as if that were a personal definition of a club authority.”
It should be noted that the National Court of First Instance in Civil Matters No. 11 of Argentina ruled in favor of the complaint of November 24, filed by the opposition candidacy, that there are “irregularities and anomalies in the membership register”, so decided to cease the electoral process planned by the club for next Sunday.
“The suspension of the election of authorities of the Club Atlético Boca Juniors Civil Association to be held on December 2 or 3, 2023 and until the situation of detected irregularities is judicially defined in the case,” the Judiciary ruled. of the Nation of Argentina.
