Filmmaker James Cameron announced that he will dedicate more time to the post-production of the film “Avatar 3” than most directors invest in the entire creation of a film.
In an interview with TV New Zealand, Cameron said that he plans to launch the third installment of his franchise on December 25, 2025.
“We are currently in two very hectic years of post-production. Right now, it will be Christmas 2025,” he stated.
Previously, the 68-year-old filmmaker had revealed that he filmed scenes from a proposal for “Avatar 3” and “Avatar 4” simultaneously with the first sequel, in order to preserve the appearance of the young actors in the cast.
During the Critics Choice Awards, at the beginning of 2023, Cameron announced some details of the third part of the franchise, such as the incorporation of the element of fire.
“The fire has a symbolic purpose in the film and there is a culture that specifically revolves around that concept,” he told Deadline.
