Argentine Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami is already preparing to start its preseason for the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) campaign in the best possible way, so the board led by Englishman David Beckham reached an agreement to play a friendly match against the El Salvador team at the Cuscatlán Stadium of the Central American nation and which is one of the most important in the country.
This news was announced this Thursday after Inter Miami began to confirm the matches they will play as part of their preparation for the 2024 Major League Soccer season; This will be a great opportunity for both the El Salvador team and the pink team to grow together with a match in which great surprises are expected.
The match against the national team of El Salvador will take place next Friday, January 19 at 8pm Eastern Time in the United States and at 7pm Central Mexico and El Salvador Time; This with the intention that it can be enjoyed by all fans of both football teams.
“We are excited to begin announcing our preseason plans and preparations ahead of an exciting 2024 campaign. We look forward to facing the El Salvador national team in what will be a good first test for our team against the best players in the country,” said Chris Henderson, sports director.
The technical director of Inter Miami, Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, announced that he will begin training camps with the players at the beginning of January, so it is expected that the majority of the members of the squad will be present from the first day to be ready in the best possible way for the January 19 meeting that is expected to mark the beginning of an international tour.
A few days ago, the intention of the Major League Soccer team’s board of directors to tour Asia in which Lionel Messi could once again face Cristiano Ronaldo in a match against Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia was announced. However, this announcement has not been made official by the United States institution to date.
For its part, the El Salvador team, led by Rubén de la Barrera, will come to this match after facing a pair of friendlies against the Curacao team in which both teams finished tied 1-1; It is expected that this match against Iner Miami will allow them to boost their style of play with new mechanics for what would be their path to the 2026 World Cup that will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
To date, the start date of the 2024 Major League Soccer season has not been confirmed; The 2023 season of this tournament started on February 25 and the final is expected to be on December 9.
