Migration in figures

Since November, Colombian authorities have rescued 392 undocumented migrants in the Caribbean Sea, including 98 minors. Everyone was trying to get to the United States.

There are also figures that indicate that this year, 513,782 migrants have crossed the Darien jungle – the busiest migratory route -, including more than 100,000 minors.

This number is established as a record and also demonstrates the serious migration crisis in the region. The majority of people who travel these routes are of Venezuelan nationality (326,589), followed by Ecuadorians (56,328) and Haitians (45,628). This with the aim of reaching mainly the US, but also Canada, in search of better living conditions.
