Like every year, the market value of professional footballers in the world had its respective increase, with 2023 being the first year in which the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo is not in the top 15 of most valuable players.

According to the latest report from the Transfermarkt portal, the top 3 of the most valuable players in history was slightly modified, with the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé at the top with an estimated value of $220 million dollars.

A Real Madrid player slipped into the top three with an estimated value of $198 million dollars: Englishman Jude Bellingham started his adventure with Madrid on the right foot and has been unstoppable since leaving German club Borussia Dortmund. In LaLiga he has 13 goals in 14 games, while in the Champions League he has four in five games.

In third place is one of the best scorers in current football, the Norwegian Erling Haaland. The Manchester City striker is one of the most expensive players at the moment and currently has a market value of $198 million and an impressive 50 goals scored during 2023.

Although he has had an unfortunate drop in performance, largely due to constant injuries, Brazilian Neymar Jr. remains one of the most valuable players in history. With around $198 million in market value, the Saudi Al-Hilal striker looks like he won’t be leaving the list any time soon.

Already in fifth place is the Argentine Lionel Messi, considered the best soccer player in history, current world champion and Inter Miami player. The Argentine has a current value of $198 million dollars despite not playing elite soccer.
