Manchester United achieved a difficult victory three goals to two at Old Trafford against Aston Villa, after starting the match by losing 0-2 in the first half.
The Scotsman John McGinn and the Belgian Leander Dendoncker put Aston Villa ahead at the start of the match.
The team led by Unai Emery made the plays they had planned and it seemed to be a new painful episode for Erik ten Hag’s team. However, in the second half, the Mancunians were able to recover from the hard blow.
First, when Ten Hag’s team was looking for a quick reaction at the beginning of the second half, it was the Argentine who appeared to get it, but the VAR frustrated it.
In any case, minutes later, Garnacho had his revenge and relief. With the same formula in tandem with Rashford, the 10 reached the bottom and threw a low cross that found him arriving at the far post to beat Draw, leaving frustration behind and celebrating euphorically.
And when the team needed it most, the 17th appeared again, capturing a ball buoyant in the area with a left-footed shot that deflected and became unstoppable for Dibu, sentencing the 2-2 that gave life to a Ten Hag team in crisis.
Then, with the emotional boost of equality, Rasmus Højlund appeared to connect a rebound with a left foot in a corner and beat Dibu Martínez, sealing an important victory for a United in need.
“I’m the happiest man in the world right now,” the 20-year-old Dane confessed after the game. The ‘Red Devils’ provisionally occupy sixth position with 31 points, still far from the ‘Villains’, third with 39.
