The family of Savanah Nicole Soto, a pregnant teenager who is believed to have been found dead with her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, in Texas, had attacked the suspect in the crime of the Hispanic woman’s brother, who died in a shooting last year, in court. .

Victor Nathaneal Rivas, 18, suspected of killing Ethan Soto, 15, in May 2022 in an alleged act of revenge for a drug robbery, was awaiting trial in the courtroom in October this year when the fight occurred.

A video obtained by KSAT showed Rivas making a provocative gesture towards Ethan’s family, unleashing the anger of one of the relatives, who lunged at the suspect, while three more relatives joined in the attack until the sheriffs separated them. . Rivas ended up suffering minor injuries.

The suspect had indicated that Ethan stole THC cartridges, derived from Cannabis, from him and tried to shoot him at his house, but was unsuccessful. But then he contacted a woman on Instagram to help lead him to him under the excuse of a drug deal. When he went to the scene, Rivas allegedly ambushed him and shot him, according to court documents.

Death of Savanah Soto, new family tragedy

The fight in full court occurred two months before the tragic discovery of the body of Savanah Soto, 18, along with that of Guerra, 22, inside their vehicle parked in Colinas at Medical Apartments, in San Antonio, after leaving no traces since Friday, one day before the victim was going to be induced into labor, since she was already 9 months pregnant.

In the absence of an official announcement of the identities of the bodies by the forensic doctor, the police believe that the bodies correspond to those of Soto and Guerra, while the authorities investigate the case as a possible murder, said the chief of the Police of St. Anthony, Bill McManus.

“The house was already ready for the baby. There is no reason why she would just get up and go do that,” Gloria Cordova, Savanah’s mother, told KSAT, adding that her daughter was excited to have the baby.

The woman added in statements to KHOU11 that she stopped by Savanah’s apartment, called her several times, but got no answer. When she arrived at the hospital, she was told that her daughter did not show up for delivery.
