A Massachusetts resident hit the jackpot and won a grand prize of $25,000 a year for life in the multi-state lottery game ‘Lucky for Life.’ However, the woman did not want this money and she preferred to receive another prize.

Amanda Goffermann, from the city of Saugus, won this incredible prize in the drawing held on December 15, when the first five numbers on her ticket matched the numbers selected in the game.

Goffermann bought his winning ticket for just $2 at a store called Lowell Street Market in the city of Peabody.

The woman said she had been playing with randomly chosen numbers for about two years. Finally, her perseverance was rewarded.

On December 18, Goffermann went to collect his prize at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in the town of Dorchester.

There, the woman preferred to receive a single payment of $390 thousand dollars, instead of having $25 thousand dollars a year for the rest of her life.

According to the Massachusetts Lottery, Goffermann plans to use his winnings to purchase property and travel.

‘Lucky for Life’ drawings run every night, seven days a week, offering players the chance to win prizes ranging from $3 to lifetime cash payments.

Tickets cost $2 each, and to win the $1,000 daily jackpot for life, players must match all five winning numbers plus an additional number called the ‘Lucky Ball.’

Those players who match all five numbers, but not the ‘Lucky Ball’, win $25,000 a year for life.
