The parents of Courtney Clenney, the OnlyFans model accused of murdering her boyfriend in Miami, were arrested in Texas on suspicion of tampering with evidence, local media reported this Wednesday.

Kim and Deborah Clenney were arrested at their home in Austin (Texas) and booked into a local jail on Tuesday afternoon as a result of an arrest warrant against them for their alleged involvement in this case, and they are expected to be extradited to Miami in the next few hours, the NBC6 channel confirmed.

According to local authorities, the parents accessed the computer of the victim, Christian Obumseli, with the intention of deleting information that could serve as evidence.

Courtney Clenney, a popular model on the OnlyFans social network, is accused of stabbing her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, to death in April 2022 in the luxury apartment in Miami where the couple lived.

She was arrested in August of that year in Hawaii on charges of second-degree murder and has since been held without bail pending trial.

A case of domestic violence is presumed

The young woman allegedly stabbed her 27-year-old boyfriend in the chest with a kitchen knife after a heated argument on April 3, a crime that authorities described as “domestic violence.”

Clenney allegedly plunged a kitchen knife 3.5 inches (8.89 centimeters) into Obumseli’s chest during the argument that day and punctured his subclavian artery, causing his death.

Clenney’s lawyers allege that their client acted in self-defense and that he called 911 (the emergency line) immediately after the incident that occurred with his partner of two years.

During the press conference to confirm the arrest and presentation of charges against the young woman, the state prosecutor of Miami-Dade County, Katherine Fernáández Rundle, defined the couple’s romantic relationship as “violent and toxic”, as well as “extremely tempestuous.” ”.

Following the arrest of Clenney’s parents, the defendant’s legal team noted that the arrest could represent “prosecutorial overreach and misconduct.”

“We believe that the Clenney family has been subjected to some false charges to discredit them in the press and make their lives miserable,” they added in a statement.
