The 2024 Caribbean Series began on February 1 and continues in the first round-robin phase. The seven teams that represent their respective countries are still in the fight for a place in the final phase of the tournament and with the short format of the competition, some favorites are already beginning to emerge.

Results of the first two days

The debut of the 2024 Caribbean Series was led by Nicaragua and Puerto Rico. In this match, the Puerto Ricans won 5-2 over the Central Americans. While Curaçao gave the surprise and beat Mexico. On the other hand, Venezuela did the same against the Dominican Republic with a score of 3-1.

The second day came in the debut of Panama, who did not have action on the first day, and forcefully defeated Curaçao 7-3. Later, the Dominican Republic recovered from the defeat suffered and defeated Nicaragua 5-4, while Mexico added its second, and almost devastating, defeat against Puerto Rico 2-0. Venezuela rested on the second day of competition.

The ninth Vinotinto opened the third day with a 4-2 victory against Curaçao that momentarily places it at the top of the standings and waiting for the rest of the day.

Games from the rest of the calendar

The action of the 2024 Caribbean Series, which takes place at the LoanDepot Park in Miami, continues this Sunday with the matches between Panama vs. Nicaragua, Puerto Rico vs. Venezuela and Mexico vs. Dominican Republic.

In second place is followed by Criollos de Caguas from Puerto Rico, Federales de Chirriquí (Panama), Tigres del Licey (Dominican Republic), Curaçao Suns, Naranjeros de Hermosillo (Mexico) and Gigantes de Rivas (Nicaragua)

Format of the 2024 Caribbean Series

As there are seven participants, there will be a round-robin format, where each team will play a match with each rival. There will be three games per day and one team will rest each day.

The four best positioned in the general classification table will advance to the semifinals. In this instance, a single match will be played to compete for a place in the grand final of the 2024 Caribbean Series. While the losers will play the match for third and fourth place.
