The death of actor Carl Weathers, which occurred on February 1 for reasons still unknown, has provoked the reaction of a large number of stars and luminaries who shared a camera with the actor, such as Golden Globe winner Sylvester Stallone.
The legendary action actor recently spoke out regarding the death of his partner during 4 films of the famous “Rocky” saga. Playing the role of the famous boxer Apollo Creed, Weathers became a fundamental piece in the success and legacy of the well-known saga.
For this reason, Stallone himself decided to show his gratitude and affection for his co-star through a video published on his social networks, where he made clear the importance of Carl Weathers in his life.
My life changed for the better and forever the day I met Carl Weathers. It’s a very sad day for me. Weathers was an essential part of my life.”
Rocky says goodbye to Apollo
In his message, Stallone also mentioned the first perception he had of the actor when they met for the first time in the making of the first “Rocky” film: “When I saw him for the first time, I saw greatness.”
Likewise, the “Rambo” singer pointed out that without Weathers, the film would never have achieved success in addition to pointing out the fortune that having been part of his life brought him: “It was magical. I was fortunate to be part of his life.”
Carl Weathers reprized his role as Apollo Creed in the second and third parts of the saga to finally say goodbye to his character in the fourth installment of “Rocky”, considered one of the most important sagas of sports cinematography in Hollywood.
Carl Weathers: an eternal hero
In addition to his participation in 4 “Rocky” films, Weathers was also a partner of another great action movie star, Arnold Schawarzenegger, in the legendary film “Depretator.” The same European actor also spoke out regarding Carl’s death through his X account: “Carl Weathers was a phenomenal talent, a true professional and a dear friend.”
Weathers was also part of other important films such as “Happy Gilmore” with Adam Sandler. Likewise, he was part of the successful series “The Mandalorian” alongside Pedro Pascal and other renowned actors.
Although the American’s cause of death has not been specified, his family stated that the actor died peacefully in his sleep last Thursday, February 1, at the age of 76.
