The ruler Nicolás Maduro affirmed this Sunday that he will win the presidential elections in Venezuela “by hook or by crook”, although his regime faces strong pressure to allow the registration of María Corina Machado, the leader who was elected with more than 92% support in the internal elections of the largest opposition coalition in the country.

Maduro said he was sure of a victory despite the alleged conspiracies that contemplated his murder and that of several high-ranking officials, for which they have accused his adversaries and the United States government, although the US government of Joe Biden has denied these accusations and He has advocated, however, that a democratic and competitive process be carried out in the South American country.

“People of Venezuela, in the face of any imperialist and oligarchic invention, I ask for calm and sanity, nerves of steel, maximum unity and military mobilization, that the team wins, and we are going to win by hook or by crook,” declared the official during a event in Caracas for the 32 years of the failed coup d’état led by the failed president Hugo Chávez.
