Residents of Far Rockaway, Queens now have a new center offering high-quality orthopedic services.

In late January, Health Plus Management (HPM) and South Island Orthopedics (SIO), in collaboration with St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, celebrated the opening of their new facility in that Queens neighborhood.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by key community figures, including leading members of Episcopal Health Services (EHS) and Health Plus Management, representatives from the 101st Precinct and the NAACP, among others, highlighting strong community support to this health initiative.

Gerard Walsh, CEO of Episcopal Health Services, expressed his excitement about the partnership and the value it brings to the Rockaway community. Brendan Leavy, vice president of business development for the Queens Chamber of Commerce, echoed this sentiment, praising EHS for its long-standing commitment to the community and welcoming South Island Orthopedics as a member. Dr. Eric Freeman, partner and director of South Island Orthopedics, completed the line-up of speakers.

“HPM’s support has been fundamental to our growth. This expansion allows us to offer comprehensive orthopedic care, adapted to the needs of our community,” said Dr. Freeman.
Leading the new orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation program is Dr. Paul J. Kubiak, who also serves as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital. Dr. Kubiak, along with Dr. Jean Simon, Director of Therapy and Rehabilitation Services at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, and his team, are committed to providing exceptional care to patients.

“This collaboration with St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is a milestone in our mission to improve healthcare accessibility. Our combined efforts with SIO reflect our dedication to providing world-class healthcare services. “We are thrilled to see the positive impact already being made in the Far Rockaway community,” said Health Plus Management CEO Stuart Blumberg.

Health Plus Management and South Island Orthopedics share a unified commitment to providing the best patient experience while expanding services and scope of practice within and outside the region.

Founded in 1994, Health Plus Management (HPM) is a Long Island, New York-based company dedicated to advancing new and established musculoskeletal practices.
