Chocolate lovers have a true delicacy in Nutella, which has been delighting millions of people for decades. And this product is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a campaign that will run throughout the year based on positivity, fueling unity and full of chocolate and hazelnut flavor.

The 60 years of Nutella coincide with World Nutella Day 2024, which has been celebrated every February 5 for 17 years and which this year is the starting point of the now in its seventeenth year, and will come to life throughout the year to through the brand’s global #GiveANutellaSmile campaign.

6 decades of products

Millions of people in the world consume Nutella, a product created by Pietro Ferrero, of the Ferrero Group, as a way out of the cocoa shortage when he mixed it with hazelnuts. Years later in 1964, Pietro’s son, Michele Ferrero, created the familiar Nutella spread we know today.

It was a humble beginning in Italy, which is now marketed in more than 170 countries around the world.

During these six decades, several products have been produced, such as in 2005 when the first takeaway snack with Nutella &GO! was created; in 2015 the crunchy Nutella B-ready and in 2019 the cookie with a Nutella heart, the Nutella Biscuits. In 2017, the Nutella Café was inaugurated in Chicago, indicates a press release.

The most recent creations were the Nutella Muffin in 2020 and Nutella Croissant in 2023.

A collection inspired by smiles

“Looking ahead, we remain committed to building on this legacy, finding even more ways to offer fans positivity and choice. “We have been spreading smiles around the world for 60 years and through passion, creativity and innovation, Nutella will keep the world smiling for years to come,” said Giovanni Ferrero, CEO of the Ferrero Group.

The #GiveANutellaSmile campaign is centered on Nutella’s vision of using positivity as a force for good, starting with spreading smiles.

To give strength to this campaign, Nutella will launch a series of limited edition jars, characters that we all recognize that make us smile: from the chef, the rock star, the dreamer, the romantic, the hero and more.
