A woman named Jackie Nguyen caused mixed reviews for returning a couch to Costco two years after purchasing it, saying it was no longer to her taste.
Nguyen shared on TikTok how she brought the couch back to Costco.
She explained that she bought the couch more than two years ago, before her son was born, and that she was a little worried about returning it without a receipt.
In her videos, Jackie did not show the moment of the return, but she did say that she was very happy with Costco’s service.
She encouraged her followers to buy furniture there, saying it’s easy to return things if you don’t like them later, no matter how much time has passed.
Although he didn’t record the return, he said it was easy because he knew the exact date he bought it.
The woman only told that date to the employee, who found the record and accepted the return.
Jackie was able to return the couch simply because she no longer liked the color and got all her money back.
Jackie’s decision generated many comments on the publication of her video, some positive and others not so much.
And some people thought the woman was abusing Costco’s return policy.
In fact, due to criticism, Jackie had to disable comments on her video.
It should be noted that Costco has a very generous return policy, as mentioned on their website, allowing almost any product to be returned.
There are only a few exceptions, such as electronics and diamonds, which have specific rules.
Due to the criticism, other TikTok users defended Costco, saying that the company really values making its customers happy, to the point of promoting its return policy to attract more people.
Additionally, Jackie had checked at Costco before returning the couch to make sure there would be no problems.
