Next March 3 at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas the “Netflix Slam” will take place. An exhibition match between the Spanish tennis players Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. The streaming platform has been betting on this type of sporting events, even a few months ago it organized the Netflix Cup, a competition that pitted Formula 1 drivers and professional golfers against each other.

Tickets for the Netflix Slam were sold out in just a matter of hours from its announcement. With tickets ranging from $88 to $1,400 for the most expensive, the 12,000 seats at the Michelob ULTRA Arena will be full for this match between the two Spanish stars.

But in addition to the meeting that everyone will be able to appreciate on the streaming platform. Netflix also offered fans other types of experiences, on the one hand, both tennis players will give a clinic to a select group with a cost per participant of $50,000 dollars.

But the icing on the cake is the opportunity to play some sets with Nadal and Alcaraz. An experience that Netflix also offered in its packages for this event and that has a price of $150,000 dollars to have a good time with one of the two tennis players.

This exorbitant price that some people will pay to have the opportunity to play with the current number two in the ATP ranking or with the 22-time Grand Slam winner, was criticized by some figures in the world of tennis.

One of them was Patrick Mouratoglou, current coach of Holger Rune and former coach of Serena Williams, joked on his social media profiles about the high price involved in having the opportunity to receive tennis “lessons” from Carlos and Rafa, commenting that “It is “more expensive than training with me.”

However, the criticism does not seem to affect the protagonists. Who declared with great emotion and expectation for this exhibition on American soil. “I am very excited about my first visit to Las Vegas, one of the most iconic and entertaining cities in the world. I will play with my compatriot and current Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz. “It will be a great night of tennis,” Nadal commented to the media.

While Alcaraz himself, number two in the ATP ranking, also expressed his emotion and took the opportunity to praise his compatriot. “I feel honored and very happy to share the court with Rafa in Las Vegas. He is one of the best tennis players of all time, and of course, his records and achievements speak for themselves,” the young tennis player closed.
