After almost a year on and off the market, the Mediterranean-style villa in San Francisco, California, has sold for $6.65 million. Since it entered the market, the property was in the news because it is the place that served as the school of Mia Thermopolis, a character played by Anne Hathaway, in the film ‘The Princess Diaries’.
This residence originally hit the real estate market in March of last year for $8.9 million. However, the lack of interested parties caused its current owners to reduce the price of the place on several occasions.
According to records, the home was available in May for $7.9 million dollars and in October for $6.5 million dollars. It is striking that it finally sold for little more than the amount that was asked for the last time it entered the market.
It is not understood why it took so long to sell, since it is a residence with a lot of history. In addition to starring in the first installment of ‘The Princess Diaries’ (2001), this home is attractive because it was designed by architect August Headman.
The main house is 4,554 square feet spread over three floors with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, foyer, living room, great room, movie theater, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, gym and other amenities.
Inside, its wooden floors, wood-burning fireplace, staircase with iron railing, large windows and other details stand out. The kitchen has white cabinets, marble countertops, mosaics and other details.
The best part of the entire house is the roof terrace with a 360 degree view of the entire area. There is also a dining room, kitchen, bonfire, garden and enough space to rest outdoors.
It should be taken into account that only the facade of the property was used for the film, which they turned into the facade of Anthony P. Grove High, the institute where Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) and her best friend Lilly Moscovitz (Heather Matarazzo) studied. ).
