In 2018, Inter Miami was founded in South Florida. A club that, thanks to David Beckham, co-owner of the team, has managed to position itself as one of the most popular in Major League Soccer, the most important soccer league in the United States.

This popularity reached its peak with the incorporation of star Lionel Messi. Who joined the “Herons” squad in July 2023 and since then has caused a sensation within the fans, not only of Inter Miami, but of the entire MLS.

In addition to Inter Miami’s rising popularity, its finances have also grown. And a recent report from the magazine Forbes It positions the Florida franchise among the 20 best valued in the world of soccer, since in 2023 alone it grew by 74%, reaching $1,003 million dollars in its valuation. Largely due to the presence of Messi in the team.

And the growth of Inter Miami does not seem to stop there, since the same Forbes report projects an increase of another $200 million in its valuation by 2024, which would position the American team even higher in the club ranking.

With Inter Miami’s valuation of $1,003 million dollars, it far surpasses historical teams in Europe. Clubs like West Ham, Everton, AS Roma and Lyon have already been surpassed by the valuation of the pink team that has only been founded for six years.

In addition, Inter Miami aims to become the highest valued franchise in the MLS. Currently that place is occupied by LAFC with a valuation of $1.15 billion dollars, followed by Atlanta United with $1.005 million dollars and in third place is the South Florida franchise.

In search of his first MLS championship

Last year, Inter Miami already tasted the joys of being champions, although not in the competition they wanted, as the team led by “Tata” Martino lifted the Leagues Cup. A tournament contested by MLS and Liga MX clubs.

But this year, and with elite additions like Luis Suárez, Inter Miami will seek to win its first MLS championship. For them, they already started on the right foot in their debut against Real Salt Lake and now as a visitor they will seek to continue the streak against the Los Angeles Galaxy next Sunday.
