During a press conference he highlighted that they should not forget that they face the current champions of the Apertura 2023 tournament of the MX League; although he acknowledged that this is not a symbol of immediate victory and stressed that the celestials will be a difficult rival as they are currently in first position in the Aztec championship.
“I think it is well deserved, they have been doing things well. They are a very intense team, they won the last game. It’s going to be nice, a Clásico for people to enjoy, they are different games, they are very enjoyable. I hope it is in our favor, we are the recent champions and they have it in their heads a little bit, just as we keep in mind that they are in first place,” said Valdés.
The Chilean highlighted that under the orders of André Jardine the team has implemented a thinking with a high degree of motivation that has been reflected in the last games they have played, although he recognized that in this type of highly competitive confrontations it does not matter what It has happened previously because the rival also has the qualities to be victorious.

The Águilas of Club América are currently in fifth position in the Clausura 2024 tournament of the Liga MX with a total of 15 points; Now they will seek to score three valuable goals against the championship leaders to get even closer and thus be able to fight again for direct places in the Liguilla.
