The president of La Liga of Spain, Javier Tebas, decided to speak about the recent rumors that have arisen with the possible signing of French forward Kylian Mbappé by Real Madrid after the player himself expressed his desire to leave Paris Saint Germain (PSG ) a week ago to be able to look for a new path in his professional career.
During an interview with the newspaper L’Equipe, Tebas explained that “there is a 99% chance that he will sign for Real Madrid” due to the impressive proposal that they would be presenting to the winner of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, which includes a impressive financial sum and also the prominence that he aspires to have to win many international titles such as the Champions League.
“Knowing that he is leaving PSG, there is a 99% chance that Mbappé will sign for Real Madrid. But I don’t know if he’s already signed. This is great news for Real Madrid and for Spanish football. He is one of the best players in the world. From my point of view, (Jude) Bellingham, (Erling) Haaland and Mbappé are the three most dominant players on the planet, and two of them are at Real Madrid,” he detailed.
“Real Madrid is a club in an optimal economic situation. The president and the general director are very good managers, but they are very bad when they want to organize new competitions (he refers to the Super League). On an economic level, they are very reactive. At the moment, their financial results are very good and they can spend much more than they do. “Madrid has been very prudent financially and has prepared for the signing of Mbappé,” he emphasized.
Javier Tebas assured that this type of signing like that of Kylian Mbappé is quite positive for Iberian football because it boosts the rest of the players by having high-caliber figures; He maintained that this fact has already been experienced in recent years with the presence of great figures of world football such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
“Signing great players is an impulse, but it is not essential. Of course, it’s better to have big names. Having coaches like (José) Mourinho or (Josep) Guardiola is useful. But players like (Cristiano) Ronaldo, Neymar and (Lionel) Messi have left and the League continues to work very well. However, Mbappé will help us, in the coming years, to consolidate everything we have already achieved,” he stated.
Finally, Tebas also highlighted that he has had a total of three years in which Florentino Pérez has not spoken to him to discuss issues related to the organization and LaLiga; He also considered that this is negative for the proper functioning of Spanish football.
“He hasn’t spoken to me in three years. But I’m delighted that they signed Mbappé. And I take advantage of this interview to send you the message that I am delighted that Real Madrid makes these types of signings to build a team of this stature,” he concluded.
