Lisa Tyrrell, a grandmother living in a small town 40 miles south of Springfield, Illinois, became the winner of $250,000 thanks to a scratch-off lottery ticket.
Tyrrell used to go to Jumpin’ Jimmy’s gas station to buy his favorite lottery tickets.
The player was stunned to discover that she had hit the fat man, winning the grand prize.
“I couldn’t believe it, I had to check the ticket three times,” she shared with Illinois lottery officials, still in disbelief at her luck.
On the other hand, the owner of the gas station also said he was happy about the award.
“When I found out I had won the jackpot, I couldn’t believe it! “I’m very happy for her,” said station owner Chandresh Patel.
The grandmother plans to use her new fortune to spoil her eight grandchildren, although she also plans to buy a new car and a house.
“I have eight grandchildren. “I’m so excited to be able to use some of the money to spoil them a little,” she said.
“I have always dreamed of what I would do if I won a lot of money, and now, my dreams will soon come true,” added the winner.
