The Big Apple is slowly starting to warm up this week, with a high temperature of 61 degrees expected on Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.
However, this Sunday will be quite cold, specifically at night, temperatures will be around 20 degrees.
Spring weather conditions will begin this Monday and Tuesday, when temperatures reach 50 degrees. It will probably rain a little on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 70% chance of rain on Tuesday night, which will last until Wednesday with higher temperatures.
While Wednesday is expected to have a high temperature of 61 degrees, daytime temperatures could drop to 38 degrees, Daily News reported.
“It would be colder behind that, and maybe behind that front there will be some flurries of snow, like Wednesday night or Thursday,” AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bob Larson said.
The warmth of late winter won’t last too long, as temperatures are expected to drop into the 40s on Thursday and Friday.
Clouds and light showers are forecast for the following weekend, but temperatures will rise again on Saturday and Sunday, with a high of 60 degrees next Sunday.
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday of next week there is a 55% chance of precipitation, according to AccuWeather.
This would be the first sign of spring in New York that comes almost a month after Groundhog Day, which was last February 2, when Punxsutawney Phil failed to observe his shadow and wrongly predicted an early spring.
