The SAG Awards had several iconic moments in its 30th edition, and one of those that undoubtedly caused a sensation was the one starring the Chilean actor Pedro Pascal.
After a while after the opening of the ceremony, the protagonist of the series “The Mandalorian” took the stage to receive the award for Best Male Actor in a Drama Series, for his role as Joel Miller in “The Last of Us.” from HBO.
When going on stage to receive the statuette, the actor revealed that he was surprised to have been awarded, in addition to admitting that, due to low expectations, he had a few drinks to pass the time.
“This is wrong, for several reasons. I’m a little drunk. I thought I might get drunk. “I’m making a fool of myself, but thank you very much for this!” said Pascal, visibly moved.
“I’ve been in the union since 1999, so this is an incredible big honor. To all the nominees, I don’t remember any of your names at this time. I’m going to have a panic attack and I’m going to leave,” he added.
Shortly after the speech, the 48-year-old actor explained to designer Tan France that he didn’t remember much of what he said when he went up to collect the award, but he was still excited by the unexpected choice.
“I don’t remember what I said. She surprised me too much. Upload it to YouTube later,” she joked.
Pascal’s victory at the ceremony was transcendent, as the award was competed for by talented actors such as Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfayden and Billy Crudup.
It should be noted that Pedro Pascal will return to his character of Joel Miller for the second season of “The Last of Us”, which has already begun filming.
