The former Yankees player and current board member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Alex Rodríguez, took to his social networks this Monday to talk about his controversial tan that he wore last Friday and which was the subject of ridicule and memes on social networks.

During the match in which the Timberwolves fell 112-107 to the Milwaukee Bucks, Rodríguez was interviewed by the television station and his look attracted a lot of attention when he showed himself with a much darker tan than his skin color, so they immediately passed to compare him as the new “Sammy Sosa” but in reverse, due to the depigmentation that the former Chicago Cubs player suffered years ago and that also went viral.

That is why he took to his Instagram account to talk about the incident and clarify that his appearance was due to too much sun during his last vacation and that by nature he is Dominican, so his appearance is also justified.

“Okay everyone, I know I’m dark but I’m Dominican and I went on vacation. And I fell asleep, in the sun,” was part of the message with which A-Rod started, in English.

Later, in a joking tone, he asked Internet users to calm down and then address his fans in Spanish with a smile.

“So everyone, calm down… Calm down, calm down, my people… now!” said the author of 696 home runs during his 22-year career in the Major Leagues.
