One of the second-hand stores, preferred by the majority of those who live in the United States, is Goodwill, since in them you can find all kinds of items at low prices and that, in reality, can be “hidden treasures” and worth a true fortune.

And not only Goodwill shoppers can get big surprises, but also store employees, who when browsing the merchandise, can find amazing things that can literally help them solve some financial problems they have in their life.

That was what happened to a worker at a Goodwill location in Oklahoma, named Andrea Lessing, who, in 2021, was arranging a sweater on one of the shelves and when she checked it, she found that there were “hidden” items inside. $42,000 dollars.

According to information provided by NBC affiliate KFOR, he was looking through a pair of sweaters and found several $100 bills inside.

“I was at the back qualifying. “I never expected to find myself with $42,000 dollars,” she told Fox News.

Contrary to what you might imagine, Lessing, in an act of honesty, took all the money and gave it to the Goodwill store manager, to whom he told what had happened, so he immediately tried to track down the donor. of the clothes to return the money.

“I know the risk involved in stealing that money and I believe in karma,” this woman, a mother of 2 children, told KFOR.

A Goodwill representative said the amount of money found by Lessing was one of the largest found at a thrift store.

Due to her act of honesty, the woman received a reward of $1,000 from the owner of the clothing.

“I didn’t return it to expect a reward. “I didn’t return it to expect anything,” Lessing told Good Morning America.
