A routine task turned into an extraordinary victory for a Massachusetts man, whose simple act of doing a favor for his wife culminated in a million-dollar lottery prize.
Milford resident Joshua Chunis hit the jackpot with a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch-off ticket called the ‘$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks.’ The ticket costs $20 dollars.
Chunis’s fortune began with a simple task: stopping at a gas station to put gas in his wife’s car.
While there, he decided to buy a lottery ticket, without suspecting that this act would end up changing his life.
And that ticket turned out to be the winner of a $1 million dollar prize.
Opting for financial prudence, Chunis elected to receive his prize in a lump sum payment of $650,000 after taxes.
Among his plans, Joshua said he intends to invest part of his profit in making improvements to his home.
The diligent man bought the winning ticket at a gas station called Sunoco A Plus, located at 527 SW Cutoff Street in the city of Worcester.
The store will benefit from a $10,000 bonus from the sale of the winning ticket.
