The Powerball jackpot reached the impressive sum of $412 million dollars, after the last drawing in which no participant managed to match all the winning numbers.

Monday’s drawing, which took place around 11 pm ET, concluded with no winners for the grand prize.

The expectation increases for next Wednesday’s draw, since the possible lucky winner would have the alternative of selecting an immediate cash payment valued at approximately $195.5 million dollars.

The last time someone won the Powerball jackpot was on January 1, when a participant in Michigan matched all the winning numbers, taking home $842 million.

That was the fifth largest prize won in Powerball history.

The numbers selected in the February 26 drawing were 24, 29, 42, 51 and 54, with a red 16 Powerball and a 3X Power Play multiplier.

Although there were no winners of the jackpot or the $1 million Match 5 prize on Monday, there was one Match 5 + Power Play winner taking home $2 million in New York.

For those interested in trying their luck at Powerball, the process is simple. Each ticket costs $2, and participants must select five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.
