Scott, father of Taylor Swift, was accused of allegedly physically attacking a photographer in Sydney, Australia, the territory where the superstar took her successful The Eras Tour.
This Monday, the Daily Mail portal reported that “Daddy Swift,” as he is popularly known by the singer-songwriter’s fans, had hit a paparazzi at a ferry dock in Neutral Bay during the early hours of Tuesday.
The 51-year-old photographer, identified as Ben McDonald, denounced the patriarch of the Swift family, alleging that everything happened while Taylor was walking hand in hand with her father: “She got off the boat, walked towards the security guards who were throwing umbrellas at us to the face and then he attacked.”
“In 23 years of taking photographs, I have never seen anything like it. “He probably decided that he needed to defend her daughter for some reason,” she added.
McDonald said that although he did not require immediate medical attention to treat the injuries from the attack, which left him with a lot of pain on the left side of his face, he already filed a complaint at The Rocks police station.
McDonald’s images showed that the Grammy winner was walking from the pier, covered by a black umbrella, preventing the press from capturing her face. Not being able to see ahead, Scott took care of clearing the way for his daughter to pass without problems.
The outlet also confirmed that the North Shore Police Command is already investigating the case.
Taylor Swift and her father had spent the evening on a luxury yacht in Australia, after the performer concluded her fourth concert in Sydney.
